CombiCoverslips are custom treated glass carriers for use with the Molecular Combing System. During an extensive research at Genomic Vision, the treatment using vinyl silane has been proven to optimize the binding of DNA molecules during the combing process. After combing and hybridization, the glass carriers are placed in barcoded sample cartridges for the scanning procedure.
All batches of CombiCoverslips undergo a strict Quality Control to ensure that the DNA is combed consistently and that the technique is reproducible.
The advantages of the vinyl silane coated glass surfaces include:
Binding specificity only occurs at the extremities of the DNA
Optimal signal to noise ratio resulting from negligible background fluorescence
Disposable DNA Reservoirs
Disposable DNA Reservoirs are specifically designed to be used with the Molecular Combing System. Made of inert materials that do not interfere with DNA, they can preserve DNA solutions for at least 7 days. To limit the risk of cross contamination, the reservoirs are single-use, sterile and DNA/DNase free. Cleaning and autoclaving steps are now unnecessary. Disposable DNA Reservoirs are ready to use.

Sample Cartridges for Scanner
After combing and hybridization, the glass carriers are placed in barcoded sample carts for the scanning procedure. A built-in barcode reader in the scanner facilitates sample processing by identifying sample carts automatically.
